My Baby Is Here. And I love her.

Letter sent May 30, 2016:

What a week! I'm exhausted but happy. So. Monday we cleaned the whole apartment. It was insane. There was so much stuff from past missionaries and it was just cluttery and had so many irrelevant things that I just threw away so that it could be perfect for my new companion. We also went bowling with a few members which was fun and seemed more high tech than American bowling. I got a strike. Wii bowling is finally starting to pay off.
Tuesday we traveled to Stockholm and stayed the night with sisters Lund, McClatchie, and Woolsey in Täby so that we could all pick up our babies on Wednesday morning! It was so fun. Then FINALLY Wednesday came! My new companion is Syster Christensen and she is an absolute dream. I adore her. She amazing at Swedish and everything. I am impressed every single day by her.

We had a little training with all the other new missionaries and their companions and then we headed off to Stockholm so we could all get on our trains to our various areas. It was super weird because we were there with all our new missionaries and all the missionaries who left on Wednesday were also there. So I got to see Syster Adamson again before she returned to the US. Elder Halterman was also there so we got to take a "family picture." He's my mission dad so Syster Christensen is like his granddaughter. It was fun.

This week we got to meet with Dao and Earth a couple times. They're still having a hard time with the law of tithing so their baptism has been postponed. But they continue to come to  church and pray and read the Book of Mormon so I believe that they will realize how important tithing is soon. I love them. We went at visited them at the Saturday market while they were working. We were talking to Earth a little in broken english and then after we left he sent us these texts which I just thought were hilarious and adorable.

We also met with Dora again this week. We taught her about the importance of the Sabbath Day and keeping it holy. She told us that this was just what she needed and that she was coming to church to matter what on Sunday. She is the actual best. She gave us little angel statues because we're angels to her and because of a verse she read in the scriptures that talked about angels. She came to church on Sunday and was commenting and introducing herself to people and this time she stayed for all three hours!

Here's another pic of Syster Christensen because she's perfect. And also these strawberries from this little tent by our house are bomb.

This week there's been a big festival going on in downtown Jönköping which at first we were pumped about because we were like, Hey, lots of people. But turns out when there's a festival, even if you aren't by the festival, no one wants to talk to you. We were having a hard day and everyone was making pity *sorry that you're missionaries* eyes at us and we were just over it so we took a little pause and talked about how it's worth it to get all the rejections for the people that will stay and talk and then we started talking to people again and so many people in a row stayed and talked to us and we were able to teach them on the street about the plan of salvation and Jesus Christ. It was amazing.
I know that God leads this work. I know that he's preparing people for us to teach. I know that this gospel changes lives. It's changed mine and I'm so grateful for it.

Have a great week!

Kram,

Syster May
