Mushroom Hockey, New Companion, and the Priesthood

Letter sent March 7, 2016:

Mushroom Hockey!

Hallå hallå!! This week has been crazy fun. So, last Monday was probably in my top 10 funnest days of my life (possibly an exaggeration). We decided as a district to go on a "hike." Lol there are basically 0 mountains in Sweden so it was destined to be just a nice stroll from the get go. Anyway, we started walking and all of a sudden we just entered into this fairy, gnome, troll wonderland. Like, if Frozen was real life, the little troll part when they sing, "he's a bit of a fixer upper" would probably have been filmed there. It was so green and moss was covering everything. But then there was still a little snow so it was all green and white beauty. There was a swamp thingy that was completely frozen over that had trees sticking up out of the ice that we were all sliding around on and then Elder Weaver found this frozen mushroom equivalent in size to a hockey puck so naturally we all starting finding branches to play some hockey with. Literally I have never had so much fun. It was so slippery and everyone just kept falling down but we just kept on playing. Half the time when people would hit the mushroom their stick would break so they'd have to just go search out another stick. It was hilarious.

Then Tuesday Syster Crawford and I got to go greenie contacting!! It was so fun. There were 6 new sisters and 1 elder that came. So we take them out for about a half hour and just contact with them in Stockholm. I was losing my mind over this for about 4 days leading up to it half because of excitement half because I thought I was actually incapable of doing it by myself. Like, what if they said something and I didn't understand and then the greenie baby just thought I was super super dumb. But, never fear, it went smoothly. I went out with Syster McClatchie. Then she got assigned to Täby so she's in my district now! She was just darling and is probably Gabi's twin separated at birth.

Then Wednesday I got my new companion! Syster Adamsson! I love her! She's from St. George and has been out for 15 months. It's so good and I'm already learning so much from her. Also it's been good to not just have a trainer who I relied on for everything. Like, even if I was capable, I would still just let Syster Crawford do everything. But now I'm having to lead the area. I feel super smart that I know all the tunnelbana and pendeltåg and bus route thingy's. 

On Wednesday we met with this lady named Pantea. She is soo sweet. Basically she is having a super super hard time in life right now with work and her daughter but we were able to talk to her about Christ and how our faith in Christ is something that gives us hope and happiness every single day. It was super good and we're so excited to keep meeting with her.

We also met with this guy named Deus who is here in Sweden working so that he can have his wife and kid move here too. He's just searching for the happiness and hope also and it's just like, DAH. You are so prepared. If you will just keep meeting with us and try the things that we talk about this will be such a blessing in your life.

OKAY coolest story. So, Syster Adamson and I were tracting one day at night and this lady answered the door and we were like hey..etc. And she was like Come in! Come in! So we went in and she had us sit on her couch. Her, her friend, and her mom and 5 kids were all there. Only she spoke a little english and everyone else spoke arabic. It was so bizarre. She just sat down and started talking to us and peeling fruit and making us little fruit plates. Then all of their husbands came home and they were like making this feast for them. And they were like, Oh you have to stay! So we just had dinner with them. And it was SO good. We would sometimes be in on the conversation and sometimes they would go full arabic but they kept just telling us to stay. Then they were like, Oh we have to take pictures! So we took all these pictures and selfies. It was so fun. They were like, come back anytime you know where we live!

Church yesterday was fab. Ise got the priesthood and got ordained to the office of a priest! He was so happy and it was just so good!
