Letter sent December 5, 2016:
This week was so fab. On Monday we went and visited the sweetest lady in the ward named Jesy. Her son is the most obedient child I have ever seen. He's like 2 and he cleaned up all his toys without being asked and just kept playing quietly with them.

Tuesday we went up to the beautiful land of Jönköping. It felt so good to be back in my old stomping grounds. Syster Gill and I had a great time together. She is a wonderful missionary and I'm so happy I got to spend a day with her! It was so good to walk the streets of Östra centrum again.

Thursday we had district meeting. Nothing describes missionary life in Sweden better than our life on Thursday. We had the whole day planned with member present lessons and no extra time and then everything canceled. Classic. So we got some solid time out on the beautiful lit up streets of Malmö.
Friday I got to go to Helsingborg to do the work with Sister Eldridge for a day! I love her. Another classic missionary day occurred so we hit the streets. It's always fun to contact in a different city than your own.

Saturday we had our wards Christmas party. SO FUN. We danced around the Christmas tree. (similar dances to the ones we did around the midsommar pole in the summer) I love that it doesn't matter what you age is, all swedes get up and dance around the tree like a bunch of kids. It's so much fun. We (all missionaries) got asked to do a musical number aka just sing we wish you a merry christmas. So the piano player gave us the music to sing to and it just was a bit of a train wreck because I'm pretty sure she printed the lyrics off from a Swedish website because it was not the same "we wish you a merry christmas" that I have been singing my whole life. But it made everyone laugh so I guess mission accomplished right?
Yesterday we had dinner with two young members in the ward; Matilda and Isabelle. I love them. We always feel so welcome in their cozy little apartment. We got a talking to because all Americans drive our cars too much and we're destroying the world. The fivepan had our debut thought together. Haha it was fun to have all of us teach the thought instead of just one companionship. I can describe our past week in Malmö no better than with "the Fivepan!!" One of us will shout it out and then the rest of us will echo shouts of "the fivepan!" (disclaimer: we're not actually a fivepan in case anyone was worried)

That's a wrap. I just love the Christmas season. We've gotten a few "God Jul"s on the street and it's just real cheery. I love the advent calendar that the church created of ways that we can all follow Jesus Christ's example during the month of December. I've recently been amazed by the amount of love that God and Jesus Christ have for each one of us. I have a very current testimony that this church is true. That the gospel brings happiness faster, better, and more lasting than any other thing in the world. I love it. And I love all of you!
kram kram,
Syster May
