The 2-Day Week

Letter sent October 17, 2016:

Ales Stenar

Last Monday after we emailed we went to a place called Ales Stenar. Nobody really knows what it's for or from except that it from the Vikings. But it was super pretty! We were right by the ocean so we climbed/slid down a massive hill so we could throw rocks in the ocean. It was all fun and games until we had to climb back up the slippery slope. I got electrocuted by the electric fence which was absolutely terrifying but in the end we all made it back up to the top.

This week was a little crazy because we were only in our area for 2 full days: on Thursday and Sunday. It makes it hard to do everything that we want to do with such little time. All we ever do is missionary work but somehow we still need more time for it!

On Tuesday we met with Per. He's this oldish Swedish man that we had met with once before. He hadn't read in the Book of Mormon so we talked more about what the Book of Mormon is and got all excited about it and the stories. By the end of the lesson he was all jazzed up to read it himself. He also came to church on Sunday! We had our fast and testimony meeting yesterday and all the members were losing their minds because the first two rows in the chapel were just missionaries and investigators so everyone kept going up and talking about the Book of Mormon and how this is the one true church and how everyone can find out that it's true. The spirit was super strong. It was actually a testimony meeting--not just a share stories about your current struggles and life meeting. It was very powerful. Another guy who we met with during the week, John, came as well. Afterwards he was like, Wow, that was so inspirational. It really was. I love sacrament meeting. Sometimes it's just super stressful as a missionary but when I just take time to relax and focus on why I'm there, to take the sacrament, I am always more at peace by the end. I learn and can feel the spirit as members speak and bear testimony.

This week dreams came true because I got to spend a day with Sister Christensen! We went up to Jönköping Tuesday evening and then commenced 24 hours in heaven. It was so so so much fun to be back in Jönköping with her; walking our streets and doing our thing. The queens of Jönköping back in town. Much needed.

Thursday we went out to Staffanstorp to visit Venessa and her mom May-Elin. We talked about tithing and fasting. They are so hilarious I can't even handle it. We also had inerviews with President Beckstrand on Thursday. He was doing them in the Lund chapel and we were walking down the hall to the room and we stopped by the family history room because there were 2 elders in there that President wanted to say hi to. When we turned to continue down the hall I turned right into the coat rack and smacked my head into it. So I'm continuing to make good impressions. Hopefully he could discern that my missionary skills are better than my walking ones.

Friday we took a train over to the lovely land of Karlskrona. I was with Sister Argyle all day Saturday and she's killin it in Karlskrona. Their area is blowing up; they have so many people to work with. It was so much fun to be there for a day and see how the Lord is blessing them in their circumstances. They also made us bacon for dinner which I haven't eaten in like a year so that was super yum.

Yesterday after church a little girl in the ward, Emma, was baptized. It was ADORABLE. The program was run by all the other little girls in her primary class which was the cutest thing I've ever seen. One of the girls, Karmen, got baptized a few months ago so she gave a talk about how she felt during her baptism and then two other girls gave the opening and closing prayers and 2 others sang "I like to look for rainbows" while we were waiting for Emma to change back into dry clothes. When Sister Jackson and I sat down, Emma and Alva ran over to us and gave us massive hugs and it just made my whole day. Because Emma is a little fairy elf cutest little thing and Alva is basically Piper but speaks swedish. They are the same person. Hair, height, skin tone, mannerisms, everything. It kills me. But I love it.

I love Malmö. Everyone should come visit this beautiful city some day. I am obsessed.

Have it good.
