First letter home! Wow, so so much to say. We were supposed to be able to email you last night but our meeting with the Branch Presidency/orientation with him went super overtime. Anyway, we only get like 10 minutes right now so that you can know that we got here safely! I LOVE THE MTC. Seriously I am obsessed with it. Everything we do is so much fun. Learning Svenska is FUN. Being with all the missionaries is FUN. My companion is Syster Berlyn Davis and I love her. She practiced Swedish a little before she came which at first I thought would be super intimidating but it's actually so helpful.
Okay, so my first day here my host took me to my room so I could drop off my bags and then took me straight to class. I was putting my stuff down and then realized the teacher was speaking to me in Swedish and telling me to come with him (No, I didn't realize that on my own. The other missionaries who had already been there told me). We were in class for a few hours and the teacher, Brother Moe, only spoke in Swedish. We were all nodding and smiling like what is going on?? It was so fun. It took us like 5 minutes to figure out that ni meant new. Brother Moe was doing all sorts of acting. The first day we had a big orientation meeting with all the new missionaries and we sang We are as the army of Helaman and it was so so awesome.
I have zero time so enough with the details. Yesterday as a class we said our first prayer in Swedish! Of course we all had our books out so we could just read what we needed to say but since then Syster Davis and I have said our prayers in Swedish. At least part in Swedish. Obviously there's a ton of English in them too.
Syster Davis and I taught our first investigator today! In Swedish!! Like one hour ago. Without notes. It was so crazy and fun. Her name is Molli. She was so so nice and at the end she said du svenska bra! (your swedish is good) Obviously it is actually pure scat but like WE SPOKE TO A PERSON IN SWEDISH.
I love it here. I was so scared but it is so amazing.
Oh ALSO, we played volleyball this morning and all I have to say is Taylor would have absolutely lost her mind. Everyone was just so bad. Plus last night we had a talk about no flirting blah blah blah and so the Elders were all scared to even talk to the sisters. Plus like no high fives. No diving. No touching. It was still fun though.
I love you guys so much! Jag älskar du.
Well, hej då for now!
Kärlek,
Syster May
PS you guys can go to dearelder.com and its free and I can get the letter the same day you send it. So do that.
